Low VOC and Formaldehyde Free

The Puustelli Miinus kitchen is different, very different. It's a complete bottom-up rethink of how to make a better kitchen. The result is a kitchen that's better for you and better for the planet. The materials used in its manufacture result in very low levels of VOC emissions. The kitchen does not have conventional cabinets. Instead, it has a patented bio-composite frame, which happens to be water-resistant. And, it contains no formaldehyde.

Formaldehyde is a naturally occurring substance that is an irritant, and it can cause cancer in humans. It is widely used in the manufacture of polymers such as resins, which are used for adhesion in plywood and fibreboard (MDF). These materials are used heavily in the kitchen industry.

A Miinus kitchen does not use these materials, and resins used for bonding materials during the manufacturing process exclude polymers that contain formaldehyde. Organic compounds, such as wood, do contain natural levels of formaldehyde. But these levels are very low and the Miinus kitchen does not add to these levels, in contrast with most conventional kitchens.
